Sweeping, inspection, relining and repair across the Southwest Suburbs — with photographs of what we found, and the price agreed before we start.
Insured · Over 5 years serving the Southwest Suburbs · Open 7 days, 7:00am–7:00pm
A chimney sweep removes the creosote and blockages that turn an ordinary fire into a chimney fire — and, done properly, it tells you what condition the flue is actually in. Chimney Sweep Bros has been sweeping, inspecting and repairing chimneys in Orland Park and the surrounding suburbs for over five years. We work under a sealed vacuum so nothing lands on your floor, we show you photographs of anything we find, and we agree the price before we start. Call (708) 432-3430, seven days a week.
What we do
- Chimney Sweeping — creosote and soot removed under vacuum, with a Level 1 inspection included.
- Chimney Inspection — Level 1 and Level 2, with a camera up the flue. Required when you buy or sell.
- Chimney Repair & Masonry — spalling brick, failed mortar, rebuilds and tuckpointing.
- Chimney Relining — stainless liners sized to the appliance, after a chimney fire or liner failure.
- Caps & Crowns — the cheapest job on the chimney, and the one that prevents the expensive ones.
- Gas Fireplace Service — no creosote, but a real carbon monoxide risk if the flue is blocked.
- Dryer Vent Cleaning — the most overlooked fire risk in the house.
Why people call us
The chimney trade has a trust problem, and it is earned. You cannot see up your own flue, so you cannot verify what you were told or check that the work was done. That asymmetry is what makes it easy to overcharge people. We try to remove it:
- You see the photographs. If we say a flue tile is cracked, you see the crack. Nobody should be asked to buy a repair on trust.
- We say when the answer is “nothing”. A clean bill of health is a legitimate outcome, and not every visit needs to produce work.
- We recommend the cheaper fix when it is the right one. A crown with hairline cracks can often be sealed rather than rebuilt.
- The price is agreed before we start, not discovered afterwards.
- We tell you what happens if you wait. Some things can wait a season. Some things mean do not light a fire tonight. You are entitled to know which.
When to call us now, not next month
- Smoke coming back into the room when you light a fire.
- You think you have had a chimney fire — even a brief one. They crack flue liners and they are easy to miss.
- A damp, sour, campfire smell from a cold fireplace.
- Clothes taking two cycles to dry — that is the dryer vent, and lint is genuinely combustible.
- You are buying or selling a house with a fireplace — that needs a Level 2 inspection.
- Animals or debris in the flue. A nest is a total blockage.
If a carbon monoxide alarm is sounding, get everyone outside into fresh air and call 911 first. If you smell gas, leave the property and call the gas emergency line.
How a visit runs
- We seal and protect the room. Drop cloths, sealed fireplace opening, HEPA vacuum running at negative pressure the whole time.
- We look before we touch. Camera and light into the flue, so we can see the condition under the soot.
- We sweep the flue and clear the smoke shelf and firebox.
- We check the outside — cap, crown, and the top courses of masonry, which is where the water gets in.
- We show you what we found and give you a straight answer before we leave.

Not sure what you need?
Read the DIY guide first. It is an honest split between the chimney work you can safely do yourself and the work you cannot — written by a company that would financially prefer you called us, which is why it is worth reading. Frequently asked questions
How much does a chimney sweep cost in Orland Park?
We publish our prices rather than making you call to find out — see the pricing page. The price is confirmed before any work starts, so what you are told on the phone is what you pay on the day.
How often does a chimney need sweeping?
Once a year if you burn wood regularly. NFPA 211 calls for an annual inspection regardless of how much you burn, because the things that make a chimney dangerous — water damage, cracked tiles, nests — happen whether or not you light fires. The trigger for cleaning is about an eighth of an inch of creosote on the flue wall.
Do you make a mess?
No. We seal the fireplace opening and run a HEPA vacuum at negative pressure for the whole visit, with drop cloths down. Done properly the only evidence we were there is a clean firebox.
Are you insured?
Yes, we are insured and happy to confirm the details before we start. We do not claim certifications we do not hold — and it is worth asking any chimney company to evidence the badges on their website.
Do you work weekends?
Yes. Seven days a week, 7:00am to 7:00pm, at the same rate. Chimney problems do not keep office hours.
I have a gas fireplace. Do I still need you?
Yes. Gas makes no creosote, but gas flues still corrode, collect debris and get blocked by nests — and a blocked gas flue pushes carbon monoxide back into the house rather than a fire risk. It is a different problem, not a smaller one.
Will you try to sell me a reline I do not need?
No, and you should not accept that from anyone. Relining is expensive, so before we recommend it we show you the camera footage of the flue and point at the specific crack or gap. You are welcome to get a second opinion — a real defect will still be there when the next person looks.
